Well we began our travels early Monday morning and finally arrived in India on Thursday morning, its good to finally be where we’re supposed to be.
Our first day here we didn’t do too much. Raj the driver took us to old Gurgaon to finish up some last minute Christmas shopping. The market place is SOOO crazy. If you think going to the mall on Christmas Eve is crazy, try this and you might change your mind. Christmas isn’t even really celebrated here so the fact that it was Christmas Eve didn’t necessarily mean the market was going to be any crazier, its just always this chaotic. In the United States cars have to yield to pedestrians, that is definitely not the case here. If you are walking you better watch your step or you WILL get hit.
We sampled some of the food sold on the streets: Jelebee, which is made like funnel cake, a batter poured in to hot oil and fried, when they pull it out they soak it in some sort of sweet glaze, soo good, we’ll be having that one again. Samosas, which are filled with a potato mixture and wrapped with a flaky crust and also deep fried. And then there’s the momos look like wontons, you can get veg or non-veg, we tried both but the non-veg was better. At this point, after talking to other people who have traveled through India before, I’m basically assuming that by trying all this food that I’m going to get Delhi belly, but its all part of the traveling experience. I laughed when a buddy of mine told me that I need to try everything and that he doesn’t want me to fart with confidence once.

Sounds so fun. The walking across the street thing is also true in Australia. Are you going to fix us some Indian cuisine sometime?
